Downtime

I have had a lot of downtime. As most of you know, work has been going great. Not much to complain about because I work with sports all day, everyday. As with news coverage and what I do, there is a lot of hurry up and wait that goes along with the job. Not that I am complaining about it, but it's a fact of the position.

Right now I am sitting in my hotel room, getting ready to move in a few days to a condo about 10 minutes away from work. The place is in the woods. No seriously, it is. It is going to be a BIG change from my apartment in Manhattan but so far, everything has been a pretty good transition. I will be living with my friend Dane, who you may know from Cooper's blog. He has a second bedroom that is available and for the next few months I will be living with him.

This is going to give me some time to save some money, settle some debt that I have and get on my feet. I also plan on looking for a place of my own to buy. YAY!

I have been pretty good with going to the gym as of late. Since moving, a lot of my friends who have not seen me have commented on how good I look and that it looks like I have lost weight. Cooper, Billy and Brechi included. I have been going to the gym on a great schedule doing mostly cardio, some abs work out and a variation of my trainer workout that I had while in New York.

I feel good. Since I don't have to go to work till the afternoon, I find myself waking up, going through e-mails and such and then heading to the fitness center to work out before I have to work. When I do get to work, I use my hour "lunch" break to use the fitness center and do some more cardio.

I feel great, I feel like my head is in a better place, but do miss the hustle that is NYC. I have also got some fun e-mails from people who have been brought into my life. One was from a boy that I met over the summer. He is living in New York and recently went through a break up... of course it happens when I leave. But what is nice is that he was thinking about me and asked me out to dinner! Who am I to argue about a dinner date in New York.

One last thing before I fall asleep... A get well soon to someone up in Boston. A friend that I started talking to not so long ago had something very unfortunate happen and is now in the hospital. He should be getting out at some point Wednesday but wanted to give him a shout hoping that he is reading this and knows I hope he is feeling better about everything.

Late Night Orlando

Just thought I would give a shout out to a blogger who e-mailed me. Matthew at Late Night Orlando. The last time I was in Orlando I had a blast and now I am happy to share his blog with you guys!

Weekend (BOO!)

I had a great couple days off from work. Friday I spent some time with my sister and mom which was really nice. Friday night I got dinner with my friend Lisa who I have not been able to catch up with in a while.

We talked about a bunch of stuff. Mostly about our love lives, which I am staying away from on here for a while until something develops. What was cool about Friday night was after dinner we went out for drinks in New Haven and met up with some friends of mine from college. My friends Lisa knew a few of my friends which was nice so I didn’t have to babysit her.

Saturday I went shopping for my Halloween costume because you celebrate the weekend before Halloween right? Well that’s right. Had a nice lunch with some of my good friends and partied my ass off last night. My fraternity little brother and I dressed up as the guys from the “Dick in a Box” SNL skit. It was really funny because I had a dildo in the box, so when you opened it up, you had a 12 inch surprise! Great party, great bar, great friends.

I have not talked about the 6-2 Giants yet so I will now. I have been so busy with moving that I have not brought them up in a post. First off, yes, Slugger came with me to a game a few weeks ago. It was a lot of fun to see him. The games have been pretty amazing to be at, as usual and I have to say they have been very surprising to me.

Yesterday, the Giants played the Miami Dolphins in London England in the first NFL game played outside North America. This game makes me very nervous because will this trip mess with what the Giants have, and that is a 6 game winning streak.

On November 11th the Giants will host their division rival Dallas Cowboys, who are playing okay football. I am not a big fan of Tony Romo, even though there is a certain network that I may or may not work for promoting him as a future hall of famer.

Back to the grind this week and back to hitting the gym 5 days a week. I have been very good with working out these last 2 weeks. I have been hitting the gym an hour before work and during my hour break. It feels great! Now I just have to work on my diet!

Cursed Weekend

Well, it's been a while since I posted and have been neglecting you guys. Well, what can I say... I really do think I am cursed. I wrote why I think I am cursed back in June and got some great perspective from people.

I hate complaining about men and life because I have some really great stuff going on in my life. First, my job is amazing. As a sports nut, beig able to work with these sports and be around people that are just as crazy about it as you is awesome.

I am adjusting to life in the suburbs. I drive, I go to Target and Stop & Shop for groceries. I miss city life. I hung out with Cooper, Brechi and Billy on Friday night and had a blast being back in New York and it was like I never left. Although, the three amigos (Billy, Brechi and Cooper) made it an early night I still had this guy Justin around.

Justin and I met about a month before I left NYC. A certain bartender introduced us and we talked for the night and he is really an awesome guy. Sarcastic, into sports, very funny and can hold an amazing conversation. We made out on 8th Ave as I was leaving the bar and we have met up a few times after that and had the same outcome. We never did anything else besides make out.

Back to Friday night... Billy Brechi and Cooper and I are at Therapy and Justin texts me that he is at GYM. So I ask the guys if they want to go to GYM and they all say sure. Get there, talk to Justin, he's distracted... not by the UConn game we are watching but by something else.

I introduce him to the boys. The boys call it a night and leave me with Justin, who 5 minutes later excuses himself with a cell phone call and never returns. I know what you are all thinking... but it's not that. I leave GYM and go to Barracuda. He calls me because I am no longer at GYM. He says he is having "problems with his ex" I don't know what that means. He has since texted me and asked me if I hate him for leaving and not coming back and has apologized and "wants to make it up to me" I waited a day to respond to his text. I was mad at him because I wanted to spend some time with someone that I liked being around. Not to mention the sexual tension has been killing me.

I told him that I was disappointed at what happened and that I did not hate him.

Another boy dilemma is this guy Mike that I had talked with / hooked up with last week. I want to get to know him and just waiting to hear back from him. The proverbial ball is in his court.

As far as being cursed... I just want to meet someone... is that too hard to ask?

Anyway, enough blabbing about this. I need to focus on other stuff... like finding an apartment.

CT...

Last night was a fun night for me! Well, all of yesterday was nice. It was a day off and I had a meeting with a girl who works at Alumni Affairs at my University. She invited me to lunch to talk about a position on the alumni board as a young alumni society rep. We talked, I accepted and got some free season tickets to hockey and basketball out of it!

While I was in the area I stopped by the TKE house to say hi to the brothers and talk to my Little Little brother who is turning 21 this coming Monday. My friend Meg invited me over to her place for some dinner and who am I to turn down free food.

Meg is very fun and I am sure you will be hearing a LOT about her on here now that I am in CT. We drank some wine, talked, caught up, watched Grey's Anatomy and the Sox-Indians game.

My friend and fellow co-worker Dane came down to new Haven to hang out for a little at this gay bar. I wanted him to come down and he did. I met two of his friends, of whom I don't remember their names. The bar was, well, a weird mix of people.

There are guys here that try WAY to hard. let's pack all the crack snorting diva-wannabe-twinks, who think their shit don't stink into one club. That's petty much the way I could describe last night. Dane and Friends are obviously not included in that description.

I'm on my way home and I get a text from a guy I met on Myspace. Before any of you judge me hear me out. Since I have moved back I decided to look at the profiles of guys in my area and if they seemed fun and someone I would want to hang out with, I said hello. A few have responded back and have been great. I exchanged numbers with this guy nammed Mike and Boy what a hottie he is.

He couldn't sleep and wanted to call and talk. Since I was in the area I met him at a diner and we grabed some food and talked. Great conversation and we were both very flirty. He ended up following me back to my hotel where we had some fun and also talked for a little bit. He is very sweet and something clicked.

That whole feeling lonely thing just flew out the window.

I am on my way to New York City tonight to hang with Billy and Cooper. Hope all is well with you guys.

Gay Superbowl 7

I wasn't going to do a double post today but really wanted to talk about the one thing in NYC that I wanted to do... NY Gay Football League. They held Gay Superbowl 7 in NYC not too long ago and it is something I really wish I had been able to play. My schedule right now does not accommodate me being able to play, plus I'm out in Connecticut.

Anyway, for those of you who are sports/football fans check out the link and the pictures I found on Outsports. I have my fitness evaluation at the Fitness Center today at work. I'll let you know how that goes!

Providence: Back in the Groove

Well, I am back from Providence and I had an awesome time. I had never been to Providence and I got to say, I loved every minute of it.

As I said before, I was out there because my best friend is in charge of Marketing for Red Bull in CT, RI and Western Mass. He has beenw orking for Red Bull since he was in college and they have treated him great. The Red Bull Soap Box Race had neverbeen on the east coast, so this was a big deal for him.

I got to the Westin: Providence at about 3am on Saturday morning and crashed. My room was very nice. King sized feather bed that was just a dream to sleep in. When I woke up, my credentials for the day were slid under my door and I met up with my buddy Brendan (B) to go to the race.

B had a few friends with him, one of which was very cute but very straight. We got to the race and were met with about 80,000 other people trying to get a spot on the hill to watch the race. We were lucky enough to be FORB's (Friends of red Bull) which got us into a VIP section with free food, booze and a viewing platform. Another cool part of the area were the plasma screens that gave us a view of the entire course.

My buddy John met us in the FORB area and from there it was a wedding reunion. His wife, her parents, his mom and my buddy Gennaro (G)and his girlfriend.

John's mom was excited to see me, asking me about work and how everything is going and then she asked me if I "had a partner?" I don't know why but I hate the word partner when it comes to having a boyfriend. I would much rather have her say boyfriend than partner. John's oldest brother Billy is gay and has an awesome boyfriend down in Miami.

The race was very entertaining and there were some very cute skater guys walking around the FORB area.

After the race was over I went shopping with G and his gf and bought 2 sweaters which were very nice. We met up with John and his wife later to grab some food at the Cheesecake Factory. I know... a chain, but we love the food and Red Bull was picking up the tab.

After dinner we changed and headed to this club called Exodus. We were treated to a VIP area with free drinks. Now, I had been drinking all day... shopped, had dinner with drinks and now was drinking for free and feeling really good.

Around midnight, I was looking over the ledge at the dance floor in a zone. John comes up to me and asks me how I was doing, if I was having fun. Of course I was having fun, just wish that I wasn't the only homo hanging out in the VIP area. I said it jokingly and he said he knew there was a gay place around the corner and that I should go for the last hour and hang out there.

I felt bad leaving him but he said that I should go because he was going to help get B laid that night. So off I went.

The bar was pretty cool, small two floors with a dancefloor on 1st floor and a bar on the second level that looks down on the dancefloor. They had a TV on upsatirs showing the red Sox getting beat by the Indians. I was loving every minute of that!

I was my usual self going up and talking to random guys who I thought were cute. Some of the guys were very stuck up. I just don't understand why some guys can be so toolish.

There was one guy that was very cute that I started talking to. Explained how I just moved from New York and found out he just moved from there as well. We talked about favorite bars and both knew a certain bartender from Vlada which was prettty awesome. I bought him a shot and a beer. Sometime between talking he had taken his shirt off to shw off his wonderful chest and abs. I commented that he had a nice body and as any gay guy would, he called himself fat.

UGH. He was cute and calling himself fat. instant turn off. After a couple more minutes of talking we started to make out at the end of the bar. Not really in anyones way, just off to the side and what a great kisser. After a few minutes of making out, talking and more making out 2 drunken SKANKS walk over and pull him away. I was pissed off and drunk which is a bad combination. I needed to pee so I walked to the bathroom and saw the guy I had been making out with trying to walk back to where I just was and the skanks telling him not to go back.

What the fuck. Skanks ruined my night! The rest of the night I started talking to this guy nammed Charlie. Was in town to see family, going to harvard law and we talked for the rest of the night until the lights came up. We walked out together and I told him I was staying at a hotel and he smiled. We walked to his car and made out for a bit by the car.

He drove me to the hotel and we parked the car. His phone had been blowing up the entire time we were making out. He decided he needed to answer it. One of his friends from home was puking on the side of the road and couldn't drive. He rolled his eyes and said he would pick him up. I said I would go with him. We went to pick up the friend and he was in horrible shape. We got him to his apartment and took care of him.

Charlie didn't want to keep me there so he drove me to the hotel, again, and dropped me off. We exchanged numbers and wants me to come visit him up at Harvard. I can't wait.

This Weekend

I am very excited about this weekend. I'm heading out to Rhode Island for the Red Bull Soap Box Derby. It is almost the 1 year anniversary of my best friend John getting married. I haven't really seen him much since then. To be fair, he has been living in Hartford and I was in NY. Now we are a lot closer distance wise and after this weekend is over, I'm sure I will be seeing a lot of him.

You guys will be hearing a lot about John now that I am living close by. John and I met in middle school. We both played on the same little league team and that summer we both went to the same summer camp where we ended up being in the same "drama" class. Flash forward to high school... John joined the football team because he was fast. The second week of practice he broke his arm and never came back. He focused on Track. I kept playing football for 4 years.

We stayed friends in college when he was in DC and after college when he was moving all over the place. He was one of the first people I ever admitted to that I was into guys. Back then I said bi... but we all know that I am not Bi at all.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited because everything is paid for. The hotel room, the VIP passes, the food and drinks are all paid for. It should be a good weekend for sure.

JP WINS!

A few months ago, there were a few blogger friends of mine, Billy, Tim and JR... a few other too I can't think of, were given an award called a Thinking Blogger award. Given out by Peer Bloggers for making them think. Almost every blog I read makes me think about something. But this post is not about the Thinking Blogger's it's about me!

I got to work today, signed into my e-mail and had a WONDERFUL surprise. The head of Public Relations for the morning show that I used to work for informed me that my work on the show had earned myself a Daytime Emmy. That's correct..... JP is an Emmy Award Winner.

You have no idea how excited I am to win an Emmy. It's like a big deal, I guess. I mean, I am only 26 years old and it took Susan Lucci how long to win that Daytime Emmy??? According to Wikipedia it took her 18 from 1978 to 1999.

I haven't written my speech yet! Oh NO!

The one thing that does suck is that I don't get the statue for this. I get a certificate saying that I won. You better believe that I will have a statue for the NEXT Emmy that I win!

Hope you all are having a great week... I know I am!

End of my first week

Hello all! I think I posted a lot more than I did on the Overnight in NY. Anyway, It's the end of my first week working here in Bristol, CT and I have to say, I love what I am doing. Everyone I work with is extremely nice to me and are very helpful with questions and walking me through booking stuff and handling phone calls from Team PR offices.

Without giving away a lot of what I do, I deal a lot with Coordinating video coming in and Editorial information from reporters in the field. Amlot of you know how frustrated I was and there were some low points at the old job. Here it feels so different.

How so? Well, one thing is that I have to take a mandetory 1 hour break. I can do whatever I want. There is a gameroom that I can use, nice cafeteria that's open VERY late, and a Fitness Center. Now just think about it... guys that love sports, former professional athletes and a free fitness center to work out in. Not only is the eye candy great, the facility is world class.

I am loving what I am doing and have been assigned a certain sport that I will be focused on. I also will be getting seniority over two people soon. I started this week and two people that work in my area were given promotions. They have been here about 5-7 years each, so it's pretty nice that I will have some seniority almost right away.

I am heading to get some food with friends down near where I went to school about a half hour away. Hope you all are having a great week and weekend. Life is going pretty great for me.

First Day of Work

Well, today was my first day of work. What a fun day and what a cute guy I met. Now... as most of you know, I have a knack of meeting cute boys and becoming friends with them.

First a recap of the weekend...

SATURADY I moved out of New York... really long day.

Sunday I was out at Giants Stadium watching the Giants CRUSH the Eagles. I didn't get back to my parents house until 2am where I fell asleep on the couch and woke up at 6:40am...

It's your typical first day of work and Orientation. As I parked my car there was this cute guy getting his parking pass. His name is Rob and is a VERY cute Aussie here in the states to work on shows being shown down under.

I am at the hotel now, watching MNF (Monday Night Football) and about to fall asleep. It's so strange trying to get used to a daytime schedule again. I do know that I will love every minute of it.
