Expensive Weekend

It's great to be back in NYC, and this weekend I celebrated in style. Friday night, I had no clue where it was going to take me. I started off by heading to GYM to watch the Yankees-Red Sox game (don't get me started on the Yankees right now)

I am getting pretty disappointed in GYM. Not so much the bar, but the guys that have been showing up to watch games and hang out there. I did meet the hot Aussie guy grant and Jacob at GYM… both of those guys have turned out to be great guys to hang out with, even though they are no longer in New York.

Anyway, I leave my apartment and the Yankees are down 2-0. I get to the bar and the Yankees are winning 4-2. I ask someone how the Yankees went ahead and the guy says in a VERY feminine voice, "Oh honey, I don't know. I just thought the hat was cute. Makes me look like a jock."

I roll my eyes with disgust. The only guy there that I was able to get an answer from was the bar back, who was wearing all Mets gear. He was cute, but probably straight (more on that later) I get a text from my buddy Matt who happens to work for the rival morning show that I work on. He is having a party at his place so I head over and hang with him and drink free Beer and Jager.

It was nice to meet some new people and chill with Matt. At one point, after a few drinks, Matt and I are out on his balcony and we are talking and I blurted out "Matt, I'm Gay." I had no clue why I decided to just blurt it out. He looked at me and said, "Seriously? That's cool man, I never would have known." The rest of the night was as it was before, more drinking, watching his hot roomie take his shirt off and dance around. About 3am I decided to take off and catch the subway home. I woke up Saturday at around noon, didn't realize how drunk I had been the previous night and hung out with my roommate and his friend watching the NFL Draft and the Yankees game.

Later that day I had a softball game out on Randall's Island, and it was my first real bonding experience with my team. I was disappointed in the way I played. A special thanks to Slugger, gave some pointers as I was on my cab ride over to the island. I know I have to learn to be patient at the plate and work the count a little better. I got a lot of "great hustle" comments from guys on the other team. Our manager is pleased and sees me as a solid addition to the team so I am happy about that.

After the game a few of us went and got some food and Michael from the team wanted to go out and hang at our sponsor bar. Tony was heading down to hang out so the three of us met up at the bar and another guy from the team came along as well.

Not to get all sappy on here, but, Tony is awesome to hang out with. He is rolling his eyes as he reads this but he is a good guy to go out with. We decided to hit up Stereo pretty early, around 11:30ish. Stereo I guess is the new Roxy on Saturday night. I am not a big club guy. We got REALLY expensive drinks and talked until the place started filling up.

This Italian caught my eye. He was attractive, not a "Chelsea Boy" looking guy but cute. Reminded me of this guy I work with. Anyway I was talking to him earlier in the night on the dancefloor before things got really busy. He was into the conversation and I was just seeing what was going on. The bartenders working were HOT. I mean really hot. Out of my league hot. On Steroids to have that kind of body hot. One bartender and I got talking. His name was "Will". Probably not his real name but it worked for me. He had taken his shirt off and had a smooth chest. Nice pecs and biceps and looked like at one point had a really defined and toned stomach, but had small love handles and a belly. Still, he was hot. We got to talking, He is from Brooklyn and now lives over in Jersey. He gave me a break on some of my drinks and we flirted a lot. I got drunk and was always going to him for my drinks. He would smile, flirt and talk to me when I came by.

Later on in the night I was blunt and asked him if he was single. He said, no… but smiled. I went out on the limb and said, "you're with a girl huh?" Of course he was. He asked why. I kept hitting on him and going off about straight guys I was attracted to. It always works out that way. He smiled and said he was flattered. Before I left I gave him my number and said, call me if you ever switch teams.

I started to remember this when I was talking to another guy I met named Guy on the phone this afternoon. He is the Italian I mentioned earlier. Anyway, I was walking upstairs in the club to see Tony who was with Michael and bumped into Guy. We talked, and walked upstairs. We talked over the loud thumping music and he we had a good conversation as we could. I don't know how it started but we ended up making out. Tony stopped us after about 5 minutes of making out and he preceded down to the dance floor.

I got his number, he took mine down and we got separated after I took a trip to the bathroom. I found Tony and we headed out the door and went to Cafeteria down in Chelsea to get food. Our waiter was cute. My burger was delicious and I fell asleep at about 7am.

Whenever I hang out with Tony I spend a LOT of money. I had fun so it’s no big deal.

Danny Roberts pt. 2

I got an interesting e-mail over vacation that I have been meaning to post. All of you remember my 2 Days with Danny Roberts from The Real World: New Orleans…. A reader of Queer Click sent an email in about how Danny Roberts has a “small dick”.

First of all, I understand that Danny is a role model for young guys who are coming out and generally, a celebrity for those who grew up watching Real World, but do we really need someone to BASH this guy online? I understand that it is the internet and you are free to write about anything you want, but seriously.. why Danny? He is such a nice guy.

Take a look at some of those pictures on Queer Click and tell me that he doesn’t have a nice package…

LINK NSFW http://www.queerclick.com/archive/2007/04/overheard_at_th_1.php

ALSO… from Wikipedia… “Danny now speaks at schools across the country on diversity in sexuality, coming out and the military's "Don't ask, Don't tell" policy and currently lives in Harlem, New York City.”

Ummm, Danny... I live close.. holler at me... lol

haha I highly doubt that Danny Roberts, or anyone who is on reality television reads my blog. If you do shoot me an email. Killerblender at gmail . com

Anyway, enjoy some pictures of Danny from his website Country to Concrete.

Lessons from Vacation

I have a new outlook on life right now, and it's thanks to my vacation and some people I met along the way. 10 days is a long time to have a vacation and I loved every minute of it.

I left NYC stressed. Where was my job taking me... what was up with my love life... just lots of questions I kept asking myself. Over the course of 10 days I had a lot of fun and had time to reflect on what the hell I was doing.
First there was Jesse. The Red Head I met in Orlando. I remembered why we went outside, my old roomie Erik had been thrown out (we didn't know this) and I wanted to go look outside for him. He came along with me to "look". As we rounded the corner of the building we walked maybe 10 yards and I stopped taking my phone out to text Erik. Jesse threw me up against the building and started making out with me. I went with it. He said one of the hottest things anyone has ever said to me...
"You are amazing. I want to spend the entire weekend with you."
He said this looking directly into my eyes, with a smile. I melted. We continued to make out, a little rubbing and grinding that night and I could feel his cell phone vibrating in his pocket. It was his girlfriend.
The next day he called me when he got out of work... asked where I was and came and met up with me at the Magic Kingdom. We ate, hung out and headed back to my hotel room to shower and head over to City Walk at Universal Studios where my buddy is a bartender. We hung out at his bar, drank a few drinks and headed for Groove, a dance club. Not bad.
Saturday was pretty much the same thing except Jesse was with me the entire day and we sat down to have lunch at Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom and "talked". He has been dating a girl on and off for the past 2 years. She moved in a few months ago to help save on rent and it was convenient. He has been with guys before and calls himself confused and bisexual. He reached out, took my hand and looked me in the eyes and told me that I was a great guy and could really see himself leaving his girlfriend for me.
I took it as a major compliment. We were both really into each other. I left Orlando and drove to Palm Beach. It was pouring rain and Jesse called to make sure that I got in ok. He called pretty much everyday and we would talk and Wednesday was a conversation that lasted 2 hours as I sat by the pool at midnight. He decided to break up with his girlfriend for good. He had also been laid off and was working a part time shift at some chain restaurant in Orlando and wanted to "get out of the state" and said he wanted to move to New York.
I did not know what to say and told him not to be irrational but if he were to move to New York, obviously I would be a happy guy because he is a great guy. I do know that if he does move to NYC we would not live together and we would have to see what happens, but I am open to it.
I don't know if he was serious about moving to NYC, I guess time will tell. What I do know is that he has given me some serious confidence. Maybe it is what he needed. Maybe I am the guys that helps him accept himself and become the person he really is. A lot of maybes but i do know this for sure, he is a part of an amazing vacation that really changed a lot.
In other news, burried at the bottom of the post, I have two BIG interviews coming up in the next 3 weeks. Same company, different divisions. One is in Sports and one is in Entertainment... wish me luck!

Back to New York

Vacation is over. I am siting at Palm Beach International and have to go into work tonight... sigh...

Before I left the condo in Palm Beach I went out on the beach and watched the waves, sat in the sand and wrote in a notebook that I brought about the happy times I have had here growing up and everything that I have experienced on this trip so far.

I am so relaxed right now it's ridiculous. I have a new outlook and have learned a lot about myself these past 10 days. Partying in Orlando and sitting on the beach with my Mom and Dad gave me a lot of time to think and reflect.

I do need to fill you in on my Palm Beach stay... I have been sitting on the beach and just chilling. That's pretty much it. I had sent an email to a DJ down here who works in radio named Ted. He got back to me and Friday and Saturday night we met up for drinks and talked. Very cool guy, attractive, and just an all around good person. I just sent him an e-mail thanking him for the ride to the airport. Friday night we went out to this dirty bar downtown called Roosters... Lots of older men, strange crowd but great conversation with Ted. Saturday night I went out to dinner with my parents, as usual, and a neighbor of ours from Chicago. He has offered me an apartment to use downtown and a BMW for when I come to Chi-Town... Looks like I am taking a trip to Chicago now.

Anyway, after dinner and all of that I met up with Ted and his friend Richard. We went to this place called Lounge in West Palm on Clamatis Street. It was gay night and we had $2 Martinis and $2 Miller Lites... guess which I drank...

Anyway, Richard and Ted had been eyeing each other the entire night and I had talked to each of them individually and it looks like they are getting together tonight for a movie and maybe something more... they have hung out a few times just never really acted on it... I got them making out by the end of the night and feel good about getting them together... I had enough fun this week.

Anyway, I have another post I want to work on about the Red Head in Orlando because he deserves his own post...

Goodbye Florida... See You Real Soon!!

*** Thanks to Matt from DTB who had the pictures on his blog. I meant to thank him and I apparently forgot to. I have them up there because of the surfers that were on the beacha ll week. More on them later... but a big THANK YOU to Matt!!!!!! He is the coolest!

West Palm Beach

That is the view from my bedroom right now! I am in West Palm Beach now, have been since Sunday and have been relaxing. Last night I had an AMAZING dinner at Legal Seafood at City Place, Blackened Swordfish with Veggies and a baked potatoe.

Off to the beach for me now!

Thoughts

I was sitting on the beach yesterday, 72 degrees, and my mom said, "Hey JP, there was shooting at VA Tech..." My first thoughts were with my friend Mike who transfered there and will be graduating in May. I jumped up and came inside, went on facebook and his status on facebook was, " I'm Fine"

My thoughts are with everyone who is involved with this national tragedy. I hope everyone keeps them in their thoughts and prayers...

AMAZING DAY 1

What an amazing day 1...

I will keep it short because I am heading out to the Magic Kingdom today. Yesterday, got off the plane, in the rental car and checked into my hotel. My buddy and old roommate Erik called and came over to the hotel.

No, not like that. We headed over to Universal Studios and decided to hit up some rides. He works for Universal down here so he got in for free and gave me a comp ticket. $0 is a lot of fun to pay for a theme park. We hit every major ride at Universal without waiting in a line longer than 15 minutes. Dueling Dragons and the Hulk are amazing rides. Spider Man is also pretty sweet. The way Island of Adventure is set it is so cool.

Anyway, we talked a lot in the park walking around about what has been going on. he asked me if I had anyone in my life, blah blah blah...

He had to go pick up his girlfriend from work so we got out of the park and I headed to take a nap. I woke up, took a shower and headed to see them at this place called Howl at the Moon. It's a piano bar kindaplace where the players can play any song.Plus there is a live band with participation from the audience. Anyway... Erik had a bunch of his friends there and all of them were cute. I flirted with a bartender who was really cute and flirted with this guy nammed Jesse.

He is a red head, which I LOVE. He was talking about his girlfriend being a bitch, blah blah blah. He asked me which girl i wanted to bang in the bar. I told him none. He asked why, I looked at him and said, "I'm Gay." He replied... "I'm gay after a few drinks." and smiled.

I yelled... iM BUYING JAGER SHOTS.... We did them of course... then the beer pong tournement started...

I said long story short right? It was about 1am and Jesse and I headed outside for something, but we ended up making out for about 45 minutes outside. He wanted my number really bad and is calling me when he gets out of work at 3pm.

Leaving for Florida

So I am leaving for Florida... It feels so good to be able to get out of the city. I am also excited about hitting up the theme parks and hanging out with my buddies in Orlando. Then on Sunday I head down to my parents beach condo in West Palm Beach. Of course, I will try to blog as much as I can.

I have a few goals for this vacation. First, is to write as much as I can while I am at my parents condo. It's very relaxing for me. Second, is to relax as much as I can. Sit on the beach and let loose on this 10 day Florida Adventure.

I have my new digital camera with me, So I will be taking many pictures and posting them to the blog. I know I will have internet in Orlando, but I don't know about West Palm. I am sure I will find a way to post some pictures of the condo.

I hope you all have a relaxing and good week. I know I will.

Oh! By the way... I talked to Jacob yesterday... he thinks he is going to accept the job offer he has in New York. So, he is moving back and that makes me pretty excited. Even if we are just friends, he is a cool guy to have here.

I had some drama at work the past few days. I don't understand why some people act the way they do. I don't want to get into it but I had to change a bunch of my passwords and finish an application in a rush... in the end, it all worked out in my favor, just drama...

Anyway... boarding call... So many people with children. See you in Orlando!

work, work work, vacation

I can't wait to go on vacation. It's been a stressful few months with working insane hours and trying to keep myself sane when it comes to "dating". Orlando is my first stop. Well, Lake Buena Vista...

I have been working on a few job interviews and won't be talking about them much on the blog. Why do you ask? The last few jobs I talked about on here, I did not get. So, my new approach is this. I know, it sucks for you all because I know how much you love to hear about me possibly getting some new hours.

Anyway, I was working on some stuff at work and had AIM open and got an IM from Justin. He is a guy I have known for about 10 years. I wrote about him a while back and he is a guy that I would spill my guts to about all my encounters in high school and he would do the same. We only knew eachother from online and then he told me he had a boyfriend who turned out to be a guy I knew. Anyway, he IMs me tonight and we caught up and exchanged a few pictures. He said that I have lost weight and look good. He is one of many that have commented on how great I have been looking lately and is making me feel really good about myself.

Another update on the guys I have been blogging about...

Jacob and I had a few dinners last week. He is a really cool guy I met while at GYM. But, of course, he moved back to Kansas on Easter Sunday. He was offered a job here in New York and is debating on wether to take it or not.

I got an e-mail from Grant, the hot Aussie I met a few weeks back. He had a great trip and wants me to come visit him down under. I guess I have my 2008 vacation planned already...

Nick, who I have been trading e-mails with hasn't called me back since Sunday... YAWN

Anyway... back to work... more to come....

Fraternity for Life

The banquet was amazing. There was a brief moment where tears filled the room. In 2005 my chapter lost a brother in a freak accident and Saturday night we had a prayer for him and a moment of silence where all the brothers and alumni stood up and toasted our fallen brother. This happened last year, but right after the moment of silence a few of the guys started a chant we do to make another brother chug his beer at a party. The cheer was for that brother. I chimed in and started and about halfway through I lost it and started balling. My little brother was there and hugged me and it was really somber. I know that he would want us to get up and dance after that, and we did.

I got a little TOO WASTED and proceeded to tell everyone I loved them. We headed back to the house afterwards and one of the new brothers who had just been initiated had come up to me at the beginning of the banquet to talk to me because we had met briefly when they were in NYC and had heard so much about me. I found it kinda out of nowhere but took it as a compliment. He had a beautiful date, half white, half Pilipino.

He is cute and has a toned body from doing martial arts. He would always end up near me on the dance floor and we had a good time. Anyway, we end up back at the house and I was really drunk and a little nauseous. I sat down on a couch and he was close by and came over to talk. After drinking ginger ale and feeling better I went over to my first beer of the night. 12:30am, first beer after having a shit load of Jack and gingers.

This new guy, lets call him Tommy started talking about this girl he was talking to and that he was into. He was asking me opinion on it and I was telling him that he should go for her.. blah blah blah. The conversation quickly turned to sex and how he has nailed a lot of girls on campus. I didn’t mind listening, he is cute.. but I have a rule that I would never hook up with anyone from my chapter of my fraternity, I have hooked up with guys in my fraternity, just not any that went to my school.

About an hour into just sitting around and shooting the shit he brings up me being gay. He asks me when I came out, how I did it, when did I know… the usual questions I get from guys that are bi/questioning and wanting to talk about their feelings in a discreet way.

I talk about what I went through in college and how there were guys that I “dated” in college that were “straight” and that I had no problem with it because we were having fun. He agreed that someone should be able to have fun regardless.

I had to keep thinking in my head that this guy Tommy is my brother, and barely 19. After some more talk about some of my sexploits around campus, he tells me that he has messed around with a guy before. I knew it was coming and kinda had the feeling that he was. A bunch of people came into the room we were in and were getting ready to play flip cup. As they left he said, can we keep this between us? I said of course I would not tell any brothers.

I tell you guys because I thought it was awesome that this guy, who barely knew me started talking to me and trusted me with something that a lot of guys struggle with telling people that they have known for years. Tommy is a great guy. As I was leaving to go pass out at my little brothers apartment he asked for my cell phone number so he could call me whenever. We traded numbers and the next morning he added me as a friend on Facebook.

The next morning I was hung over as hell. Somehow after eating an bacon egg and cheese I was able to play a softball game. I got back to NYC and got a phone call from Jacob, who I had met a few weeks ago when I met the hot Aussie named Grant. Jacob was in Central Park and wanted to grab drinks. So I showered up and headed downtown to meet him at a restaurant for some food and drinks. On my way down to meet him I was excited because we had kept in touch all weekend and missed eacother Friday night.

We had an awesome conversation about life, our jobs and how he is moving back to Kansas on Sunday. :-(

Anyway, he asked me as I was leaving for work from the restaurant if I wanted to meet Tuesday for food again… of course I said yes. I seem to fall for guys that don’t live in New York City full time.

The good news is I’ve been able to meet some cool guys that read this blog that are just like me. When I first started this thing, it was one of my motives to be able to meet guys like me. So far, Spring 2007 I have met some awesome guys that are turning out to be good friends. Can’t wait to see what will happen with everything.
