Great Weekend!

A good weekend comes out of nowhere. It was off to a great start on Friday when I went and got dinner with my friends Lori and Lisa. After dinner at this little Italian place we went and saw State of Play. I thought it was really well done. I just don't like how the previews say, "Just wait for the big twist at the end." That is a sign, to me at least, that the movie sucks. The movie did not suck and I would recommend that you go and see it.

Saturday was a pretty cool day all around. I spent the afternoon with my father doing lawn work. It was about 77 degrees out and I loved being out in the sun and being active. I used to dread manual labor as a teenager.

Later that night I went into NY for a start of the season Softball party at The Eagle. For those who do not know the Eagle, it is an interesting place. Not really my kind of place to go while I am out but they do have an awesome roof deck.

I saw some of my teammates and not many other guys I would recognize. Apparently a few teams have folded and those players have joined other teams. No biggie.

I was starving and realized I hadn’t eaten dinner and headed over to elmo which is over by Cafeteria. No wait… which was nice walked right in and got drinks and food.

I had text Billy while we were eating and he said to come up to Hells Kitchen and meet him at this place Saloon. I haven’t seen William in about a year and it was AMAZING to see him. I met the guy he has been talking about and he is a riot. Very cute and very fun.

The first thing I noticed about the place is that there was this gorgeous bartender there. I forget his name and in my drunkenness I told him he was adorable and he gave me a smooch on the cheek. That was the start of the night and I felt my groove.

The night went on… me, my teammate, Billy and his guy were drinking and talking and catching up and it was fun. I think we broke out into song at one point.

Then we see a gaggle of ladies in the bar. They were standing in front of us and one guy did not want these ladies in “his gay bar” he was not the owner, just a mad gay.

With the ladies was this guy. Definitely not my type, as Billy pointed out. Hot none the less. If I could describe him, he had a reddish brown beard, deep blue eyes, athletic build and was wearing a plaid print shirt. I don’t know how I started the conversation with the ladies but we got to talking and she introduced me to her brother.

We started talking and it was just one connection after another.

He drives a Jeep Wrangler. So do I. We both love steak and beer.

He had asked me what my perfect dinner is… I said steak and beer. He looked at me and said, “That’s amazing.”
Later on in the night mid-conversation he asked me to come with him to the bathroom. It was an excuse to get away from his sister to make out.

His sister was getting ready to leave and he asked me for my number. I gave it to him and he asked for my full name. Is this so he could Facebook me?

He said to walk him out and I did… as his sister hailed a cab he turned to me and gave me one last kiss and said, “I’ll call you.” I did get a text today.

It’s amazing to me that I can go back to NY and have an amazing night like this where guys are flirty and open to conversation. True, not all guys in Ny make conversation with strangers. Here in CT they just don’t respond well to guys (ie: me) coming up to them and talking to them.

It was refreshing and it really got me excited about the softball season and knowing that I have places to stay on my weekends in NY.

Oh and about the guy… We’ll see how it goes.
