Back... in a groove?

First off--- The Giants SUCKED yesterday. The play calling was terrible and I really just don't want to think about it.

Now, for my weekend, sans Giants depression. I got into a groove this weekend thanks to my friend S.

I was out with friends at a hockey game Friday night when my buddy S texted me asking if I wanted to head to a gay bar in New Haven later on. I didn'nt feel like driving so he said he would pick me up.

S and I have a long history. We met in college and had a drunken night of making out... but remained friends with no hooking up. S is in great shape and is always in a relationship. 3 months, 1 year, always not single.

So I decided to head out and hit the bar. S has had a recent streak of bad luck. His boyfriend broke up with him, lost his new iPhone, crashed his car and lost his job... all in 4 days.

We get there, have a few drinks and the night is starting to look like it's going to be a good one. Now, CT isn't exactly the best place to meet guys. I did however meet 3 new friends with one who has potential.

We are hanging out by the dance floor and our friend A introduces us to a former neighbor of his, Z.

Z is pretty much everything I look for in a guy. Smart, funny, athletic, into sports, hot... but he has a bf. His bf was also awesome and Canadian which made it an even better night because we talked some hockey.

Later on that night, this guy R shows up. Apparently, before Z and his bf started dating, they had had some fun together. R is starting to venture out of his closet and is an awesome athletic guy. He was a varsity swimmer as an undergrad and is now doing his doctoral work at some Ivy school near by.

We talked the entire night, laughed, talked sports and exchanged numbers.

It was a good night to get into a groove with meeting a guy. It's all about confidence and reminded me of when I would hit the bars with Cooper and Billy in NYC.

R and I texted over the weekend and he wants to hang out soon. We'll see how it goes.

  1. Awesome, glad you hit the bar after the hockey game with recent bad luck guy. Maybe something interesting will spark up, hope so for your sake.

Well, I like the Cowboys, you like the Giants, so maybe we can bond over rooting against the Eagles? Even if it means lowly Arizona is going to the Super Bowl (did I just type that? Could it even be possible that the Cardinals could be in the Super Bowl?) What has the world come to? Sigh.
