I am alive

I never really thought I had that much of a readership, but the e-mails have been nice. Yes, I am alive.

I had been wanting to do a post for a while now and seem to get distracted with work and grad school... plus trying to have a social life. I apologize to you, my loyal readers.

First things first... Where the HELL did spell check go on Blogger?

Life is boring here in the 'burbs. I get up for work at 3:30am, at work by 5am... because of drama at work I can't leave until 2pm. I don't often get a break from what I a doing so I am racking up a bunch of OT. (Yes, I still get paid hourly, the joys of television.)

I have thought about retiring the blog because I don't live in New York and I don't have that much to say anymore.

Most of my time is spent doing stuff at work and working on my final projects and classwork for Grad School.

For those who live in CT and read the blog, most of you know me. You also know that being a single gay guy in Connecticut sucks. It is a horrible place to live and try to meet someone who has substance. Don't get me wrong, there are guys in CT who are great. They all have boyfriends or prefer a boi that is under 160 pounds and works in retail.

"But JP! You dated a guy earlier in the summer!"

I did. He turned out to be a head case. Truth is after that first week of feeling wanted by this guy, and talking with many of my close and trusted friends, not talking to him was the best thing I ever did.

I recently had a conversation with a guy I knew from college. We were talking about his new boyfriend, who I also know. Shane lives in Boston and his bf lives in CT.

I bring up the long distance because he is willing to give it a try because he really likes his boyfriend. It made me think of branching out and trying to date someone that lives in NY. I never thought I would try it because of the distance thing.

The more I think about it the more I want to do it.

  1. I read, i don't often comment, but I thought I'd let you know I'm out there.

I started reading in summer of 07' when I was having a rough time, just kind of bummed about being gay and all that goes with that on this journey and I found blogs. Who knew? The blogs, including yours, made me feel better to know there were "others" out there. And I've enjoyed reading yours.

A few bloggers have retired. But it was fun keeping up when I found some I related too. I'm a sports nut, I pretty much identify with straight guys, except I'm gay of course. And I work in your industry. So it was a natural.

I have never been to NYC, but enjoyed hearing the tales of living in the big city.
So keep blogging if you have time and the interest. You never know who you might be helping and I sure like hearing how your doing.

    Best wishes!

  2. I always enjoy your commentary.
Ditto what the other guy said.
It's nice to read the perspective of another normal, masculine gay guy. Sometimes makes you feel less like a freak in the gay world.
