Interview

I need to thank Billy, Cooper and Cameron for sending me good luck text messages yesterday for the job interview. Right after work I headed to the train and took it to my parents stop in Connecticut. My dad picked me up at the train station and when I got home I was greeted by the dogs and my mother. She had lunch waiting for me and loves when I come home even if it was for a few hours.

I head up to the interview and met with two hiring managers and both conversations went REALLY well. They were impressed with my resume and were vocal about that, which is good. I really do a lot over my pay grade right now and one of them was worried that I would feel held down because the position really doesn't use my producing and editing skills. Over all it was a great time and I did very well. I sent my Thank You emails today and put the Thank You cards in the mail.

One thing that did disturb me while I was home was how much of a mess my dad is right now. My dad just lost his father in October and my grandmother has been recovering from a stroke the last few years. My Aunt is taking care of her and it is causing a lot of stress between my father and his siblings. My dad has 2 younger sisters and 2 younger brothers.

My Uncle "Will" is not helping matters out at all. He has a drug problem and it is tearing our family apart. He is married, has no job and has already been in rehab. Not fancy celebrity rehab but a program where he was away for a while. He seemed to be doing fine and then everything came crashing down. He is now on the run from the police because of fraud and it hurts me to see my Dad pissed off, trying to help him out and be a good brother and see my Uncle just treat my dad like shit and then run away from his problems, leaving his wife and five year old daughter. Sigh.

On a brighter note, I have ANOTHER interview, this time in New York, on Monday. Same network, know the manager and hope that the position needs to be filled right away!
