Book Search

I am looking for a good book to read. I haven't read a good novel in a long time. I have been on this Social Science kick lately reading about Media and Society. Some people may find this boring but I find it very interesting.
Anyway, I am looking for a good Spy Novel, Mystery, anything...
Please send them my way here.

  2. Hey JP,

Some books you should check out:

    - Perks of Being a Wallflower
    - Tuesdays with Morrie
    - Five People You Meet In Heaven

    And then there's also:

    - Running With Scissors
    - Little Children (which is next on my reading list after I finish Air Babylon)

Yah my reading list is a bit random...but the first three books...definitely good reads, especially Perks! I loved that book!

G'luck on your interviews bro! Patience is a virtue! :D

  3. I think you would love PINS by Jim Provenzano - a tightly written book about two high school wrestlers from NJ who fall in love. Really a great read. Not all porny.

  4. J.G. Ballard is one of my favorite authors, check out some of his stuff like "The Drowned World," "Cocaine Nights," or "Empire of the Sun."

Another of the Great Sci-Fi books: "The Stars My Destination!"

I need to come up with a summer reading list for you... Ha ha ha.

  5. The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen is a great read. It's a couple of years old but is really good. Oprah named it to her book club back in the day but don't let that stop you from reading it!!

  6. BOURNE, BOURNE, BOURNE.

And them come with me to see the new movie when it comes out. Even though it has nothing to do with the book.

  7. A good gay novel is "The Weekend" by Peter Cameron.
A great laugh out loud book is "My Family and Other Animals" by Gerald Durrell.

  9. Maybe you're looking for something mindless for summer (I am) but if not, I highly recommend The City and the Pillar by Gore Vidal, and The Charioteer by Mary Renault. And, of course, At Swim, Two Boys by Jamie O'Neill.

  10. Two recent novels:

Soon I Will Be Invincible by Austin Grossman - a very wry look at Super heroes who have more human foibles than eve seen in the world of comics.

A Good and Happy Child -Justin Evans, which is a creepy, very literary style novel of possession, with a good dose The Sixth Sense and Stephen King thrown in.
